Meet Dr. Natalie

A Bit of Background Information
I am a fully licensed, clinical psychologist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions. I earned my PhD from Eastern Michigan University where I completed specialized pre-doctoral training in trauma-informed care. I then went on to complete a clinical internship at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System where I was able to gain considerable experience in providing evidence-based treatment to individuals with posttraumatic stress disorder. I maintain national certifications in both Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I have trained extensively in the provision of Cognitive Processing Therapy. In addition to my trauma-related focus, I have a passion for implementing mindfulness-based interventions to assist in reducing anxiety and depression, while also enhancing overall well-being and resilience.
___
Professionally, I work in healthcare administration as a Chief Operations Officer for a county-wide, community mental health organization. As both a practitioner and an administrator, I have a deep-appreciation for the demands placed on healthcare professionals, as well as those serving in other public-facing roles (e.g., educators, health department employees, etc.). For more than a decade, I have offered training and workplace consultation on topics related to trauma exposure, Secondary Traumatic Stress, employee burnout, and resiliency building within organizations. I am a firm believer that while individual wellness is critical, organizational climate and cultural practices are key to employee longevity and resilience.

Although my full-time career keeps me busy, I build time for both my clinical and teaching passions. I am fortunate to partner with McCaskill Family Services, where I offer both telehealth and equine-assisted therapy. Additionally, I maintain a position as a part-time lecturer for my alma mater (EMU) where I teach Clinical Organizational Management to doctoral students and provide clinical supervision to student clinicians through the EMU Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CBHC).

Personally, I am a wife, mother, lifelong horsewoman, and perpetual seeker. I believe in creating sanctuary, speaking love into this universe, and standing wholly in the present moment. Thank you for being here with me.
Good that WE are here.
